I was looking back through old blog posts and I realised that the last time I did an update was when I was 18 weeks pregnant… ummm… ok, so where on earth did the past 7 weeks go? I am blown away at how quickly time is passing me by!
So here I am. 25 weeks pregnant! All in all, I have been feeling great. Bubba is kicking up a storm and its just SO lovely to watch my belly move when the little munchkin starts acting like a little ninja at night.
Last Friday we had another check up with my Doctor. Bub was looking great and is growing perfectly. I still get the biggest rush when I see and hear it’s little heartbeat. For some reason this pregnancy seems so much more real… it’s like I am appreciating (and understanding) the process of what my body is going through right now. The other night when I was relaxing and bub was kicking away, I got so overwhelmed and turned to my husband in complete shock explaining to him that there is a human being inside my belly (as if he wasn’t aware lol) and that this little miracle is going to be with us in just a short few months. Clearly my hormones decided that I wasn’t capable of controlling my emotions OR the words that were coming out of my mouth so he just looked at me like the loony I was and smiled.
Braxton Hicks Contractions… and plenty of them. Probably averaging 10-12 a day, at completely random times. My Doctor keeps reminding me to slow down but it’s rather difficult with an extremely active toddler cruising around. Speaking of toddlers… I have to add that pregnancy and moody toddlers don’t mix. At all.
Heartburn. Oh my gosh. Heartburn. Is it not the most uncomfortable feeling in the world? Due to this, my love affair with jalapeños has had to end 🙁 Devastating right?
Shortness of breath. I have only been experiencing this one in the last two weeks or so. I find it hard to get a nice, full, deep breath and I find myself puffing after short stints of picking up toys or hanging washing on line. I guess bub is starting to push all of my organs out of the road to make way for some serious growing!
Smaller meal portions. I am definitely eating smaller portions of food but more regularly. I would love nothing more to sit down with a gigantic bowl of pasta but I’m afraid it just makes me so sick!
Give me a huge glass of milk crammed with ice cubes and I am one happy mama. I will also still gladly accept cold pineapple!
I have been consistent with attending my pregnancy pilates once a week. I would really love to be a little more active, but I have to listen to my body and create balance wherever possible! The last time I checked (maybe 2 weeks ago) I was sitting at a 4-5kg weight gain since falling pregnant so I am feeling pretty comfortable at this stage.
What else? I think that’s about it! I feel like it’s been smooth sailing with this pregnancy! I submitted my pre-admission forms at my hospital where I will be giving birth and once I reach 30 weeks, I will make an appointment to attend a pre-admission appointment (at 35 weeks) with a mid-wife to go over my birth plan and cover any health issues I have.
Thanks for stopping by and having a read of how my pregnancy is progressing!
